Launching Kenley staff blogger that is new

It had been just over 2 yrs ago it has been that I started as an Assistant Director of Admission at USC. Wow, what a journey! I work with students from a variety of areas: Utah, Idaho, Montana, Wyoming, Kansas City, and parts of Orange County and San Diego (phew!). We have bright red hair, while the fiery personality to fit, therefore I am always complete of energy and up for any adventure. We love to travel, explore the outdoors, bake anything with chocolate (lots from it!), and you can find me dancing when there is a upbeat tune. I am thrilled to be joining the blogging team and can’t wait to share some of my insights and knowledge about the admission procedure and college life.

I grew up in Utah and lived within the many mountains that are beautiful the world. I spent quite a bit of time checking out them, but got tired of the long winters, which is why I was eager to attend school in sunny Southern California. We attended Claremont McKenna university where I studied International Relations and Psychology.

I loved my college experience. I really liked it, which is the reason why I like working in higher education, specifically helping students find an organization that is a good fit. It’s very very easy to talk to prospective students about USC since it is such a great place to live and learn. We have always been lucky working on such a dynamic, energy-filled campus. Our students are thinkers, academic options are abundant, and our company is located in an urban community in one of the greatest metropolitan areas on earth. I can not wait to share more about the USC experience therefore the admission process within my posts in the future!

Dining Table For Starters

‘ Our suitcases that are battered piled on the sidewalk again; we had longer techniques to go. But no matter, the road is life.’ Jack Kerouac

Currently, I am writing this blog sitting inside a Peet’s Coffee in Northern California. Dining Table for one, headphones in ears, answering emails and logging down notes about my high school visits from earlier today. For the a few weeks and a half, i am residing in hotel rooms and having dishes by myself. Usually, there is time to explore the cities I visit to ensure that’s nice. But most for the time, the road can be tiring so I spend nearly all of my time resting whenever possible. It is very an easy task to get unwell regarding the road!
For approximately two months of the 12 months, a huge number of admission representatives throughout the country live this lifestyle. From the perspective that is outside this indicates extremely glamorous. In many ways, it is just a really fun work. It’s truly rewarding to be able to help pupils in one of the very phases that are transitional their life. It is also nice having the capability to be out of the workplace. However, this element of the task can be isolating because well. It generates me appreciate my friends, family and wife straight back at home a lot more.
Nevertheless, our mission is what is on the forefront. USC visits over 2,000 schools per year; we go to the most high schools out of any university in the nation. We have been out here searching for students that may constitute the next incoming class of freshmen at USC. It is our goal to put together an exceptionally diverse class every 12 months so we want to meet all types of students. I am honored to complete my part that is small in process. It brings me personally a feeling of satisfaction to operate for a university that aligns with my own vision for education.
So seek us down. Ask questions. Become familiar with us. We care about what we do and all we want is for you to enjoy a your option. It is a big life decision so it’s important to be up to date. If we look like we have been in a hurry in between visits, it is most likely because our company is. But we will always cause you to feel welcome to contact us at a different time, via email or phone. We believe what we do matters. We like it. Whether or not it means sitting through one meal that is lonely a time ☺
